As a leadership coach for over twenty-five years, Marty Marzolf provided clients large and small with a unique leadership development experience. He earned a third-degree black belt in Shuri-te Karate, and also studied judo, tae kwon do and jujitsu. Simple and Effective

A worthwhile read. Martial arts fundamental principles such as having a good stance, balance and taking advantage of change, to name just a few that are covered in the book, are key ingredients to success in just about anything, but especially in leadership. This book shows how to apply them in a simple and effective way. I recommend it to managers who daily face the chore of working with others to get the job done and stay on course, and to anyone whose goal is to handle their lives in general with more success.

This guide gave me a better understanding of true leadership. The "lessons" are based on core values that the author believes are central to all dynamic, ethical organizations and their leaders. Marzolf's main character, "Paul, the Black Belt Leader" exemplifies leadership principles distilled from the author's many years as both an executive coach and a Karate Black Belt - the result is a unique combination of practical ideas, value-based strategies and meditations on personal discipline.
