Amazing introduction to middle earth role-playing

This was one of the first role playing games I ever played, and it's still one of my favorites. The artwork and descriptions are outstanding, and though it is not slavishly adherent to LotR "canon" I agree that it reflects Tolkien's vision. It reminds me a lot of the Hobbit!

Even though the "extensive research" put into this game is not as detailed as I would have liked, and many Tolkien enthusiasts would call this a sacriligeous butchering of Middle Earth, I enjoyed it immensely and thought it was true to his vision.

Brings much-welcomed structure to getting to a good explainer video

Can anyone argue the power of explainer videos? When I first started seeing these things I immediately recognized their utility. They've grown in popularity, and in my opinion, the cleanest and most effective landing pages involve them, especially for startups. I appreciate a manual for their production. It's not a trivial task, you want to get it right the first time, and you don't want to squander your money. This book brings some much-welcomed structure to the approach, and it comes at a good time as I become involved in these efforts at my company.

I downloaded this one in conjunction with the author's other book on video marketing. It's a great manual on approaching an explainer video project, which is a big investment for many startups. It answered almost all of my questions. It stays away from the homemade or DYI approach, which I had hoped to learn more about. Otherwise, it was helpful knowledge to have before approaching a producer.

I found that [the new boxed features] were excellent!  They are very accessible and clearly highlight important features of the text in general.  They also cover research content that I think would interest most students, so at least they are interested in reading them…

I found [Chapter 13: Field Research] to be one of the strongest most comprehensive chapters.  It is not usually found in research texts and I was surprised at how interesting I found it…I often struggle to make synchronic research methods accessible to students and this…does so in a very interesting way.

[On chapter 4: Reviewing the Scholarly Literature and Planning a Study]: Great chapter (4)!!  I was so pleasantly surprised by this — I enjoyed reading it an it’s extremely useful — I don’t know if I’ve ever read a  methods text with this information so coherently presented

I needed Basics of Social Research for my Sociology class. The book has a lot of useful information in it. I am learning how to write Social research papers using the Scientific Method. I would recommend this text book to anyone who does a lot of Social Research.

Not a Fan So Far

I am not a fan of this book so far. Granted I have not read it cover to cover yet. But I have had to read quite a few chapters throughout the book (and still have more). The first thing I noticed was that it is very amateurish. Yes, I understand it is the BASICS of social research, but it is entirely too basic. The author spends too much time defining terms that I learned in 3rd grade and had drilled into my head ever since. I (and I wold expect other college and graduate students) do not need to have "hypothesis" and "theory" defined for me once again with long explanations as to what these terms mean. Maybe I am not the best person to review it. I am on my second masters degree (this is for my graduate level research methods class) and I have had two research methods classes already (one in undergrad and one in my last grad program). Despite that, I think that it would be amateurish and not much help for any college or graduate student, but especially graduate students. Maybe if someone was in a lower level research methods class it would be of help. If I later decide I am wrong, and find something helpful in here, I will update this review.

Daisy Lane 1

Loved this book..........a little like another author who more recently has failed to write her regular gritty novels for which she was renowned for. This author has captured some of that 'feel'and is certainly heading in the right direction to become the new "Martina Cole". The story line was excellent and will leave you wanting to read the next one. If you enjoyed Martina Cole you will certainly love this author.

We learn all about Daisy's friends Jenny brother Eddie
The plot is good plenty of twists and turns that I didn't even see coming
